when one commits a sin, it will not be easy for him/her. it will continue to haunt him/her... all the way till he/she dies... she/he can ask forgiveness from Allah... Allah Himself is the Most Forgiving and Most Merciful... but the memory of the sin... will continue to stay inside this servant of Allah's mind... it will make him cry.. it will make him sad... it will make him wonder if Allah had forgiven him... it will make him feel helpless.. it will make him feel stupid... he cursed himself for committing the sin... it was just that moment he did it... but it will become a forever marked spot in his entire life... As narrated in a hadith (i cant recall it now) our father of mankind Prophet Adam AS, during alqiyamah when humans run and call for help.. call for mercy and assyafaah... Adam AS will reply.. "I am burden with the sin of eating the forbidden fruit... I.. cannot help you as I don't even know if I can help myself.."
