BismiLLAH
its been long since i wrote something of my personal life. not that anyone cares, but theres a need to.
am i so free? i feel as if i am free.
yes, maybe at the time being, i have more free time compared to most of my friends.
i only work part-time (teaching at tuffahah) and thats basically it.
huhu.
am i ashamed to admit that? maybe no, considering the fact i just published this online heh. if i am to delete this entry later... well... maybe i took the time to change my mind.
whatever it is, it has been
SO
enjoyable teaching at tuffahah.
just to give a vague picture; i teach sec1, sec2 & a pri 4 madrasah kids every weekday except friday.
and on saturdays & sundays i teach secular school kids both upper & lower primary; Arabic & Fardhu 'Ain.
its interesting as i get to teach so~ many different levels.
and in each level, Alhamdulillah and insyaAllah i get to teach/learn from the many kids in the class.
with the madrasah students its always~ fun to get that old feeling of learning/discussing the kind of subjects I used to learn :) its f-r-e-e revising for the teacher and continuous improvement.
i learnt new words like score (sajjala), yellow card (saqf asfar), striker (hajim), referee (hakim) (we just finished topic on SPORTS in Insya' hehe)
In Fiqh we went through Thoharah, anwa'ul muyah (water & its types), awaani~ (water & how it should be stored);
we are learning about rights of a neighbour in Hadith, and we are learning abt righteousness;
we are learning abt Surah Al-Baqarah in Tafsir~
:D
& sometimes, we talked abt the endless madrasah politics (madrasah pun ada politics tau...), the inside, controversial issues faced by madrasahs nowadays...
hehe. fun & educational. keeps me updated ^^
my madrasah kids are all good kids. all from my beloved ALMAARIF. except for Ahmad (the primary 4 kid) whos from ALJUNIED. loyar buruk nye bleh tahan :p dah nampak characteristic2 aljunidian dalam bdk ni. paham je lah... lawak bdk aljunied haha. kelakar seram. x)

as for the sat & sun kids,
on sat i teach Arabic to lower sec students from secular sch. its different when you teach Arabic to secular students than madrasah coz sadly, most of the time they are not really interested. so my challenge as a teacher is to constantly make the subject we are talking abt in their Arabic book, interesting and engaging.
last week, we had a blast talking abt health sciences. hehe.
from blood tests to diagnosis to surgery to sterilization to injection to incision... till one of the students asked, "Teacher, were you a nurse?"
^^
no, im definitely not a nurse. but i was from school of health sciences, nyp. +_-

on sun i take two classes, teaching fardhu 'ain.
the bigger class was the 10am class. man, it was difficult to control them. i had a hard time trying to get myself heard, trying to teach, get their attention, answer each of their qns.
but strangely, i love the class. and somehow or rather, i know i shldn't give up.
Alhamdulillah!
we finally connected. and i have my class back.
all the boys, esp for they were always the ones who made all the riot (and half of the class is made up of boys -_-). so i was very, very happy =). the best activity we had together so far was last week when the boys acted out stories of
BILAL & AMMAR. :D
it was so fun to see them work together. hehe i especially enjoyed myself when bahruddin acted as bilal and hadi 'tortured' him saying in his chinese telo "who is your god?!" "answer me!" the bilal, instead of screaming or moaning in pain, couldnt stop laughing -_-
love the boys :p (cute ok)
hoping to have more fun as i teach with them :)

sun 1pm class,
i had loved since i first met them. :)
they are smaller and maybe more in control.
started from 3 boys yusuf, adam & firdaus. day by day, more joining in.
now theres hanif, ibrahim & shakirah.
still getting to know the new students but the old ones whom ive been with since january, they are like my kid brothers now. :)
so hopefully, the new students can see this and join in the fun we have together as we learn more about Islam. insyaAllah.

TUFFAHAH
is a place that teaches me a lot... more than a place where i come to teach.
it is a place that brings me new hope
and tell me a lot of good still exist in this world.
it is a place where sincere love can be found.
from a mother to a child,
a teacher to a student,
a mother's friend to the mother's daughter/son (hehe.. tuffahah teacher banyak dah ber-anak =D)
it is a place where when i first step in,
i was afraid to forge friendships...
but day by day,
it turned out to be..
sincere,
close,
friends...
and again, i begin to accept, love, embrace...
all the assifaatul mahmudaah seem to russsh into my little heart like butterflies fluttering in an open field...
:)
is this firaah?
is this happiness?
masyaAllah, it feels so freeee.

i breathe out Alhamdulillah! on my lips as it comes straight from my heart as it was knocked and slowly opened to all hasanaat in this temporary world...

ibtaseem habibi :)
