Cairo Chronicles (Part 2)
(setelah sekian lama)janji takku lupa.
lidah tak bercabang dua.
hanya hati tak mengizinkan jua.
namun amanah berat rasanya.
akhirnya kalah jua.
k dats lame. dats the worst poem i ever came out with and published online.
Marsa'alam
is a place located far in the deserts of Egypt. to get there, it took us the whole day from morning-morning gile to late at night. why did we go there in the first place? more on this later.
the journey we took was in a van drove by an Arabian old man. i still remember his face. he looked like my arwah tok ali, very tall, segak, friendly, fluent speaker (ohhh i remember the way he calls out ppl... ^^ sungguh lantang dan... arabiyah O.o sometg like "ya habibi!") hehe k. but he's a crazy driver... he drove us all through the deserts winding roads... like a young man... those who sit behind suffer from bums and bruises because of his driving...
it was an interesting journey..
along the way we saw vast sands.... stretching for miles & miles... however different from the sands of saudi arabia, egypt sands were filled with lots of small stones. (saudi arabia's sands are more beautiful... looks smoother & silkier).
we saw lots of shrubs... shrubs are small, thorny plants found in deserts. its kind of cool to actually see it out of your geography textbooks.
we saw the red sea... :) yea.. eventhough egyptian sands are not as nice as saudi arabian's but if you stretch your eyes far enough, you can see the brilliant, sparkling blue of bahrul ahmar.. the red sea. dont try to get in tho.. u will freeze into ice.
we saw.... wild camels and horses........... this got me awed in amazement.... i have seen camels & horses b4... but wild camels and horses.... its like going to african safari and seeing lions in their natural environment..
we saw.... nomads.... even more amazing... as we learnt abt these ppl lots of times... from sejarah islam to geography... to actually see them it was just... a ni'mah... they lived in tents made from a few cloths though amazingly, they could make them rather big... even bigger than those tents used for camping. they wore normal clothes (no, they aint naked -_-). the men: loose jubah. the women also but normally they will cover their faces. no joke, the weather could burn ur skin & the dust could blind you. there would also be reared sheeps where small boys and their fathers would take care off... round them up with a stick... looked after them when they ate the shrubs.... the girls and mothers would be seen near the tents, sitting... watching their men.. couldnt see them cooking or anything. must not have been the meal time. the sheeps would be their food, cloth, milk and everything else... and when water's run out in the place, they would move from one place to another.... incredible. just simply survival.
at night the journey continued...
and the desert was as dark as grave. the sand, the sea disappeared totally. but the stars made up for the disappearance.
masyaAllah the stars were like glitters blanketing all over the dark sky. there werent any area uncovered. it was a magical view. all through the night i kept my head looked up into them amazed by how many shapes, colours, sizes they come in. they were twinkling and twinkling beautifully... i wished i had learnt astronomy...
we finally arrived marsa'alam and we overnight at Karamana Resort. it was deserted as most ppl go there in summer hehe (so why were we there?! x) org kan dah bilang later... x)) it was a nice resort.... :) perfect for newlyweds to go for their honeymoon! :D it was romantic, beautiful, private, *gulps* expensive, however when we went there it wasnt expensive! because it was just our rizk. we werent suppose to stay there actually (we were actually to stay in a 3star place) but because of errors made by the travel agent, we got Karamana at the same price. Rizk, Alhamdulillah :)
it was nice... the resorts consist of houses carved from bricks (concept ashabul kahfi ^^) and to go into ur "house" you walk into your gateway made from greenery and flowers...
you get your own private garden... which is a quarter size of soccer field... but filled with more flowers and trees... (my sisters and me ran around freely like 4 birds :))
and you get a view of the red sea which was totally unseen in the night but when u wake up u see this brilliant stretch of blue. it was a nice thing to wake up to.
we enjoyed our stay there... but we had to move to Umaira' the next day straight away.
*sniff.
insyaAllah, part 3.. (will not say when....)
salamalaikum.
